Something about the night hours that excite the soul. The darkness that causes the light to come alive. As the world goes to sleep, we clock in. The countless hours spent creating, discussing, mixing, arranging, and just working away while the majority of life is in a slumber. I’ve never been a morning person. I learned for me to have an advantage, I’d have to outwork everyone during the wee hours. I’d get off work bartending and hit Wahr, who for the majority of the time, has worked the graveyard shift. We would usually spend a couple hours breaking down sounds and ideas, and just venting and decompressing. Trying to shake all the ills of the working class, as to be able to escape the madness through the music. Most days I was shutting down around 6AM, finishing mixes and shit. Wahr would crash around 11AM depending on his schedule. It’s not normal by any standard. The body wasn’t designed to sleep during the day and be up all night, but sacrifices had to be made. Can’t say we’re past those days, as we’re still up all night doing what we do best.

The peace and solitude in the A.M. birthed “Nightline” which so carefully reflects our era. When we was active in the streets, it was the same, grind all night, sleep late. Repeat. All the late nights spent outside growing up. Welcome to the night.

This body of work represents the night owl, the all nighters, the graveyard workers, the insomniacs, the ones who never sleep on their dreams.
